Uniform Specifications for Foodgrains

	For Indian wheat of all varieties (Marketing season, 2005-2006)

	For Barley (Marketing season, 2005-2006)

	All varieties of Paddy (Marketing Season, 2004-2005)

	For Grade 'A' & Common Rice (Marketing Season, 2004-2005)

	For Jowar (Marketing Season, 2004-2005)

	For Bajra (Marketing Season, 2004-2005)

	For Maize (Marketing Season, 2004-2005)

	For Ragi (Marketing Season, 2004-2005)

Quality Control Cells

Three quality control cells situated at New Delhi, Kolkata & Hyderabad are monitoring the quality of foodgrains being procured by FCI and state agencies for Central Pool, required for PDS & maintenance of buffer stocks.

Activities of Quality Control Cells :

To pay surprise visits to procurement centres, food storage depots, fair price shops, rice mills and despatch / receipt points with a view to monitor the quality of foodgrains.
Investigation of complaints received from State Government, VIPS and individuals regarding quality of food grains being supplied through PDS.
