| CENTRAL ISSUE PRICES FOR RICE AND WHEAT
Wheat and rice are issued to the State Governments/UT Administrations from the Central Pool at the uniform Central Issue Prices (CIP) for distribution under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS). Under the TPDS introduced w.e.f. 1.6.1997, the Cenral Issue Prices of wheat and rice are fixed for BPL and APL families separately. The CIPs of wheat and rice are subsidized and have remained unchanged for BPL families since July, 2000. The Central Issue Prices of wheat and rice are as under:-
